Lovable is the biggest AI app builder: over $500M in annualized revenue in June 2026 and a $13.3B valuation in August. It is a good default. People still look elsewhere for a handful of specific reasons, so this list is organized by why you are leaving, not by a ranking.
All prices and features were checked on vendor pages on October 11, 2026, and each claim links to its source. We did not run timed builds. ZBuild is our product and is marked as such.
What Lovable gives you today (the baseline)
- Free: 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits a month (pricing).
- Pro: from $25/month for 100 credits; Business from $50/month with SSO and roles (plans).
- Builds: websites and web apps, with payments, integrations (Stripe, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce) and automatic security scanning.
- Models: no model picker; Lovable routes work to models itself (blog).

If you want something cheaper
Bolt.new. The closest like-for-like swap. Pro is also $25/month (about $18 billed yearly) and starts at 10M tokens with no daily limit. Bolt Lite at $9/month gives you only Forge, an agent that runs on open models such as GLM 5.3, Kimi K3 and DeepSeek v4 Pro (Forge docs).
Google AI Studio. Build mode is free to use, and eligible accounts can publish up to two full-stack apps to Cloud Run without a billing account (deploying). After that, Cloud Run pricing may apply.
ZBuild (our product). Lite is $9/month for 900 credits. Building needs a paid plan, but planning is free: the AI lays out the pages, data and behavior before you subscribe. It does not yet publish to a public URL in one click; your app runs in a cloud workspace with a live preview. Details in ZBuild vs Lovable.
If you want a bigger free plan
Lovable's free plan stops at 30 credits a month. Bolt.new gives 1M tokens a month (300K a day) with hosting and unlimited databases. Google AI Studio says its usage "is free of charge", though it does not publish the limits. Replit Starter gives daily Agent credits, and its Free Mode handles everyday Agent tasks without spending credits (announcement).
Note the opposite trend too: Anything dropped free building in 2026 ("Building an app requires a paid plan").
If you want to pick the model
Replit has a model selector with GPT-6 Sol, Claude Sonnet 5.5, Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Fable 5.1, Kimi K3 and others, rolling out by organization (model selector). Core is $20/month.
Base44 lets Builder plans ($50/month) and above choose between Auto, its own Base 1 model, and Claude, GPT and Gemini models (chat modes).
v0 has its own model tiers (Mini, Pro, Max, Max Fast) plus Claude Opus 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol (changelog).
If you need a mobile app
Lovable builds for the web. For the app stores:
- Emergent: React Native (Expo) apps; native iOS and Android builds on paid plans, using your own Apple and Google developer accounts. Standard is $20/month, but hosting a published app costs 50 to 1,100 credits a month depending on the tier (hosting tiers).
- Anything: React Native apps with iOS publishing through TestFlight and Google Play in beta, plus Stripe and RevenueCat payments. Pro is $24/month.
- Google AI Studio: native Android apps in Kotlin; no iOS.
- Base44: iOS and Android store files that wrap your web app in a native shell, on Builder ($50/month) and up.
If you want to stay in Google's stack
Firebase Studio is closing: no new workspaces since June 22, 2026, and shutdown with data deletion on March 22, 2027 (migration guide). Google AI Studio's Build mode is the replacement for building from a prompt: a React frontend and Node.js server, Firestore, Firebase Authentication with Google sign-in, and deploys to Cloud Run.
If you want to own and edit the code
Replit gives you the full development environment around the agent. v0 can open a pull request or deploy to Vercel, and imports existing GitHub repos (new v0). Base44 has two-way GitHub sync and code export. ZBuild lets you upload an existing project and keep building it by chat.
If you are comfortable reading code, an AI coding tool may fit better than any app builder: see our ranking of AI coding tools.
Bottom line
Stay on Lovable if its free plan and $25 Pro fit and you are building for the web. Switch to Bolt.new for the closest match with a bigger free plan, Replit or Base44 for model choice, Emergent or Anything for app-store apps, and Google AI Studio for a free start inside Google Cloud.
